Vision Quest Finding the path into the heart. There are many ways to Vision Quest and each of these ways is as unique as the individual seeking to pray: some are poetic; some are terrifying. This is largely dependent upon the intent of each person. Some might be wishing to learn about that mystical realm that exists below the surface of ordinary life and reality, while others might simply want to spend some time in prayer, offering grateful thanks back to Creator for all the blessings that have been given. If we wish to approach the mystical, there are paradoxes that attend our desire to set foot on this path, or to traverse it. We get in the way of ourselves, and fool ourselves. We are all masters of self deception. The illusions that we craft can all too easily fool us and prevent clarity and insight. Peeling away the layers of these illusions is difficult, because there are layers within layers. They can attach to us like a layer of skin and feel every bit as much a part of us. Peeling these layers away can also be a terrifying and painful process, but promises great rewards. When we are able to lose our attachment to these illusions, we begin to see the world differently.
